Mykolas Kimtys was born in 1988, March 31 in the city of Vilnius, Lithuania.
2008-2012 studied Bachelor of Evangelical Theology at Klaipėda University. Head of work dr. Thomas Kiauka.
2020 and 2021 studied painting at the Vilnius Art Academy. Teachers prof. Arvydas Šaltenis, Vita Opolskytė.
CREATIVE ACTIVITIES
Since 2017 Mykolas Kimtys participate in exhibitions in Lithuania:
- 2022 personal exhibition “EGO” at gallery “MOrka”. Curated by Evaldas Jansas.
- 2021 group exhibition “37.5+” in the gallery of the painting department of the Vilnius Academy of Arts “Tapybos koridarius”. The participants of the exhibition were students and graduates of the department of Painting. Curated by Birutė Lemkė.
- 2021 personal exhibition “Autobiography” at the Naujoji Vilnia branch of the Vilnius municipal central library. Curated by Aušra Vismantaitė.
- 2020 group exhibition “Po vieną” in the gallery of the painting department of the Vilnius Academy of Arts “Tapybos koridarius”. The participants of the exhibition were bachelor (I-IV) and master’s (I-II) students of the department of painting.
- 2020 group exhibition “ISO: 2 × 40 + 12” at the National Museum of Lithuania, Former Detention Center in Vilnius. Artists Artūras Rožkovas-Arcė and Andrius Makarevičius-Makare also participated. The exhibition was part of the official program of “Vilnius Culture Night 2020”. Curated by Indrė Urbelytė.
- 2020 personal exhibition “Grynoji spalva” at Šv. Jonų str. gallery in Vilnius. Curated by Evelina Berlinskaitė.
- 2017 personal exhibition in the premises of the old bookstore in Plungė. Curated by Tomas Danilevičius.
- 2017 group exhibition together with Roma Kučinskaitė-Romėnė in the gallery of the Art Department of the Klaipėda City Municipality Public Library. Curated by Birutė Skaisgiriene.
